Harborlight is a ready-to-launch directory website for a fictional coastal town. It ships with 28 realistic listings across seven categories and eight neighbourhoods, a fast search-and-filter page, rich listing detail pages, a favorites list and a form that lets visitors add their own listing. Filtering goes well beyond a text box: category chips, price level, minimum rating, amenities, open-right-now (computed from real opening hours), verified-only, and a map-less location filter that finds places within 1, 2 or 4 km of any neighbourhood and sorts by distance.

Every filter is mirrored in the URL, so searches can be bookmarked and shared. Listing pages include opening hours with today highlighted, a rating breakdown, sample reviews and a tiny schematic locator drawn in SVG, with no map tiles or API keys. Everything is plain HTML, CSS and vanilla JavaScript.

Favorites and submitted listings persist in localStorage, and one function (Dir.load in js/dir.js) is the single place to swap in a real backend.
