Home / Websites / Documentation Sites
Tern Docs is a ready-to-fill documentation boilerplate. It ships with thirteen fully written pages for an invented product, so you can see exactly how a real docs site reads, then replace the words with your own. The chrome does the heavy lifting for you: a sidebar built from one small data file, a table of contents that follows the reader as they scroll, previous/next links, a version dropdown with an old-version banner, light and dark themes, and a Ctrl+K search that scores headings and body text across the whole site.
Code blocks get a hand-written syntax highlighter (JavaScript/TypeScript, JSON, shell, YAML, INI) and a one-click copy button. There is no framework and no build step. An optional 60-line Python script rebuilds the search index when you edit headings, and everything works by double-clicking index.html.
