Home / Desktop Apps / Menu bar
Electron App Shell is the hard 80% of a desktop app, already wired together: a hardened main/preload/renderer split (sandbox, context isolation, strict CSP), a typed IPC registry with schema validation, a versioned JSON settings store, window-state persistence, a rotating file logger, crash handling, single-instance lock, an allow-listed deep link handler, a re-bindable global shortcut, native menus, nativeTheme sync and a tray with optional menu bar popover mode. A polished vanilla HTML/CSS/JS demo app (dark and light) shows it all working. Includes electron-builder config for Windows, macOS and Linux, an electron-updater scaffold, 51 unit tests and a scripted smoke test.
Verified on Windows 11; macOS/Linux runtime and real auto-update are not verified.
