Home / Desktop Apps / macOS
Menu Bar Utility is a complete, readable starting point for a macOS menu bar app. One MenuBarExtra popover holds a searchable clipboard history with pinning and de-duplication, a snippet library with one-click copy, and a pomodoro timer whose countdown is shown in the menu bar. A Carbon-based configurable global hotkey, launch at login via SMAppService, a four-tab Settings window, atomic JSON persistence and UserNotifications are included.
Business rules live in a small MenuBarKit Swift package target (value types and @Observable stores) covered by 77 XCTest cases; the SwiftUI layer is thin. An XcodeGen project.yml builds the app and test targets. Honest status: this source was written on Windows without a Swift toolchain and was NOT compiled or run in the Mammoth lab, and the screenshots/marketing images are renders of an HTML UI preview mock, not native screenshots.
